Sri Ram Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik Can't Enter Goa, Agrees Court

New Delhi:  Controversial activist Pramod Muthalik was today denied permission to enter Goa by the Supreme Court, which tore into him for moral policing.

The court backed the Bombay High Court’s order banning Mr Muthalik, the leader of a fringe outfit Sri Ram Sene, from Goa.

“What are you doing in Mangalore?  Are you doing moral policing?  Beating up girls at a pub in Mangalore? The High court is justified in stopping you. Let him not enter Goa for the time being – for six months,” the court said.

Pramod Muthalik had moved the Supreme Court against the Goa government’s decision to ban his entry into the state, saying such directions are “orchestrated by an invisible hand operating from Goa or New Delhi.”

Muthalik has said that repeated prohibitory orders issued against him since last year violated his fundamental rights as he wanted to visit the BJP-ruled state for religious purpose in exercise of his Constitutional right.

The 52-year-old chief of Sri Ram Sene came into the limelight after he led a group of men to attack women visiting a Mangalore pub in 2009.
