Coolpad Dazen Note 3 With Fingerprint Sensor to Hit India at Under Rs. 10,000

Chinese handset-maker Coolpad Dazen will soon launch another smartphone in the Indian market, named Dazen Note 3. It comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel and will cost less than Rs. 10,000.

Coolpad Dazen had launched two smartphones in May. The device was unveiled in China earlier this month, and the company claimed that it has crossed 2.6 million registrations in seven days.

The Dazen Note 3 unveiled in China runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and will come equipped with 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixel) display. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of inbuilt storage.

“For India, the company might choose to upgrade the handset to 3GB RAM,” the company’s India CEO Varun Sharma said.

The smartphone, which will support 4G LTE (no India band information available yet), will come with a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and alongside a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Both front and rear-facing cameras will come with a CMOS image sensor for better image quality.

The Coolpad Dazen Note 3, which is expected to run on a 3000mAh battery, will be available in white and black colours. The fingerprint sensor is said to support 360-degree finger rotation, and offer speedy recognition. The China launch was first reported by GizmoChina, and Coolpad Dazen is yet to provide all the specifications of the handset. It has been priced at CNY 899 (roughly Rs. 9,300) in China.

Dazen is a sub brand of Qiku, a joint venture between Qihu 360 Technology and Coolpad Group.

“Qiku will also launch its own 360 operating system in mid-August,” the company said in a statement.
