The incident reportedly occurred before the start of the Townhall event in Silicon Valley on Sunday.

In the video, Mr Zuckerberg and the COO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg are seen presenting a memento to PM Modi, who then holds Mr Zuckerberg by his arm and pulls him by his side.

Mr Ahmed said that the Prime Minister is known for “photo-ops and event management as also packaging and repackaging” and for “spending much time” abroad.

PM Modi, who was on a two-nation tour of Ireland, and the US, also travelled to West Coast where he visited Facebook Headquarters for a Townhall question and answer session with its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. He also visited Google campus and Tesla Motors.

He spent 50 minutes on stage with Mr Zuckerberg, when he also talked about the importance of social media and his “Digital India” initiative, which seeks to connect thousands more Indian villages to the Internet and boost technology investments.
